Why The College Funding Coach?
I spent about twenty years in different areas of consumer finance and financial aid. Having previously earned the title of Director of Financial Aid at both for-profit and non-profit schools, I have advanced knowledge of the workings of all types of financial aid and the college enrollment process. Leveraging this knowledge with my experience as a financial professional, I possess a unique ability and skillset that allows me to coach based on extensive experience in working with families on very common to extremely complex college funding scenarios.
Area of Focus for Delivering Workshops: Northeastern Pennsylvania – Having spent my life in Northeastern Pennsylvania, I have a desire to give back to the communities that have supported me in becoming the professional I am today. As a College Funding Coach, I now have a very unique and extremely impactful way to give back to the area I love and call home!
A Little More About Brian
Background: Brian found his way to the College Funding Coach after a twenty-year career in consumer finance and financial aid counseling. Brian took advantage of the changing landscape during the COVID-19 pandemic and brought his experience to the financial services industry, where he was introduced to the College Funding Coach while working with like-minded professionals at First Financial Group, a strategic partner of his current firm, Meridian Financial Associates.
Personal/Community Involvement: Outside of the office, my wife and I spend time doing whatever the day brings with our two daughters, family, and friends. I’m a big Penn State football fan, and we love to grill, garden, and grow tomatoes in the summer months. During the colder seasons, and when school is in session, we’re all over town going to/from dance and games, and when time permits, for some unknown reason, apparently, I enjoy making myself furious on the golf course.
Education: Penn State University, B.S. in Business (Financial Services)
